This text set is about multiculturalism. It explores the ideas that everyone is different and importance of embracing who you are. Multiculturalism opens up the varying perspectives of cultures and ethnicities. Being open-minded encourages you to respect and appreciate the identities around you. In many of the books, it portrays characters who are immigrants and ethnically diverse. These characters find difficulties accepting themselves and fitting in, and many of them learn more about their cultural background from their family. Being sensitive to the struggles that immigrants and people of color face will help you better understand the things they go through and give respect to those who are overcoming and have overcame those obstacles. Celebrating diversity and cultural differences will teach our students to appreciate others around the world and practice self-love!
